Dr. Krishnendu Das is a senior expert in soil science, carbon systems, and land resource management with over 35 years of experience in national research and large-scale development programs. He retired as Principal Scientist (Soils) from ICAR - NBSS&LUP, where he led and contributed to multi-state projects supported by the World Bank, DST, and State Governments on soil carbon assessment, land degradation monitoring, and geospatial land evaluation.

At SM-PACT India Foundation, he provides technical leadership on carbon baselines, soil organic carbon measurement, low-carbon agriculture design, and MRV frameworks aligned with BRSR, ESG, and SDG reporting. His role strengthens SM-PACT’s ability to support CSR programs, government initiatives, and NGOs in delivering measurable climate action, resilient livelihoods, and Net Zero-aligned development pathways with scientific credibility and policy relevance.
