Skilling marginalized youth to link livelihood opportunities
Skilling the marginalized youth (specially focused on girls & women) for building their futures and fostering the possibilities of entrepreneurship
OVERVIEW
More often than not, youths belonging to struggling households end up as either school or college dropouts due to compelling family circumstances. There’s even a section of the grassroots that does not receive any education. This reality not only weakens employability on a large scale but also deepens poverty. Unfortunately, India lacks such a high-level skilled workforce. The proportion of formally skilled workers in India is extremely low, at 4.69% of the total workforce.
Recent initiatives, such as ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make in India’ by the Government are positive steps towards capacity-building in rural India. While significantly Indian government has crafted several new policies and programs in this direction along with corporates under CSR activities, it needs to be complemented by social organizations. SM-PACT India’s kill programs are highly market-driven & market-linked ensuring that our skilling explores the opportunities to earn livelihood, improve their standard of living and get out of the trap of poverty.
Skill development as part of school education is indeed important to establish a strong foundation for a thriving future. Recognizing the changing nature of job profiles, we conduct skill gap analysis to explore new skills and select domains to impart digital skills, training and knowledge to youth for certification. In doing so, we facilitate job placements aligned with aspirations and industry demand.
Our program provides market-oriented skill training to disadvantaged youth to equip them with the skills required for relevant job opportunities or entrepreneurship.
We assist underprivileged youth in building their own businesses by providing them with tailored assistance and spurring in them the zeal for entrepreneurship.
Our program helps underprivileged youth find decent and safe employment opportunities by connecting them with various central and state-run skills programs and bringing them under the CSR activities of India Inc.
We provide innovative job-oriented skills training to the youth, which ensures that they are industry-ready and can seamlessly integrate into the workforce.
Our program incorporates women-related issues such as a safe training environment, employment of women trainers, affordable cost, and complaint redressal mechanism to ensure that women are equally benefited from our program.
We digitize all processes to track progress and link external employment portals for tapping new opportunities to ensure that our program has a measurable impact on the lives of disadvantaged youth.
